Overview

The M.Sc. Animation and Game Art programme is designed to develop advanced creative, technical, and production-level competencies for careers in high-end animation, AAA game art, and immersive digital media. The curriculum emphasises cinematic storytelling, character and environment design, real-time production workflows, visual effects integration, and industry-aligned pipelines using professional-grade tools. Learning takes place within studio-based environments under the mentorship of experienced industry practitioners. The programme culminates in a comprehensive portfolio or a production-oriented project, equipping graduates for senior creative and technical roles in the global animation, gaming, and entertainment industries.

Eligibility

A student who has passed a 3-year undergraduate degree (level 5.5, a total of 120 credits) shall be eligible for admission to 2-year M.Sc. programmes.

Preference will be given to candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

However, students who have not studied the requisite courses from the discipline related to the respective programmes will have to undertake the prescribed bridge course(s).

The M.Sc Animation and Game Art programme offers advanced training in cinematic animation, game art creation, and real-time production pipelines. The curriculum covers character and environment development, visual effects, lighting, rendering, and engine-based workflows using industry-standard software.
